ICM.Quant Core Facility Supports Breakthrough Study on Spastin’s Role in Mitochondrial Health

New publication

We are happy to announce the release of a new publication titled “Spastin regulates ER-mitochondrial contact sites and mitochondrial homeostasis,” by Raby et al. TEM imaging for this study was performed with the expertise of Dominique Langui from ICM.Quant.

This research explores how spastin, a protein associated with hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP), regulates the critical interaction between the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and mitochondria. The team discovered that spastin plays a key role in maintaining mitochondrial function and cellular health. Disruption of this protein could contribute to neurodegenerative disorders, providing important insights into the molecular mechanisms behind HSP.
